WINDSURFING COURSE
All windsurfing courses are sold as 6-hour blocks, this time doesn’t have to be used in one go, you’re more than welcome to use the time when it’s convenient for you. Individual ‘one on one’ lessons can be booked.
BEGINNER LEVEL (6-hours)
Part 1 (1hr): Fundamental theory of wind and windsurfing. You will also learn how to rig the sail and board. We will also use a land-based simulator to practise managing the sail.
Part 2 (5hr): In light winds we take the sail and a large board onto the water where we will practice the skills you have learned on the simulator: Sailing downwind, upwind, tacking and gybing.
INTERMEDIATE LEVEL (6-hours)
Starting with a session on the simulator, we will work at perfecting tacking and gybing. We will then use a medium sized board on the lake in light winds and attempt to put your skills into practice. We will start using the harness at this level, a necessary skill for long days on the water.
ADVANCED LEVEL(6-hours)
Here we will do away with the up-haul rope and learn how to beach start and water start. We will also try to start using the foot-straps, as this is the main goal of any windsurfer.
